How long do I have to finish the course and how long will my account stay active?
As a guideline, Theory in a Box should take about three months to one year to complete, depending on the student's age, background, and how much time is spent on the course each week. Solo Edition accounts are good for the length of time it takes you to complete the course plus 30 days or for one full year, whichever is longer.
Do I need a musical background to use Theory in a Box?
No prior musical background is necessary to use Theory in a Box, but to get the most out of the course, we recommend having at least a few months of experience playing a musical instrument or singing before starting.
Is the course appropriate for adults?
Absolutely! Theory in a Box is flexible enough to work for all ages, and we have had many adults complete the course.
What if I have trouble understanding something in the course?
Solo Edition includes free music theory help by phone, email, or online chat.
Can I get technical support?

Can I keep my account active after I finish the course so I can review the material and continue using the trainers?
Your account will remain active for at least a year automatically. If you take longer to complete the course, it will stay active until 30 days after you finish. After this, you may renew your account for a reduced fee of $49/year.
